PASSO FALZAREGO

The Falzarego Pass is one of the most spectacular passes in the Dolomites, located at 2,105 meters above sea level between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Arabba–Val Badia, along the SS48 highway. It is surrounded by some of the most iconic mountains in the Dolomites, such as Lagazuoi, Tofane, Col di Lana, and Cinque Torri, and is immersed in a landscape of great natural and historical value.
Description of the Pass
From the pass, you can enjoy spectacular Dolomite views, surrounded by alpine meadows and imposing rock faces. It is easily accessible by car and is an important connection and starting point for hikes, via ferratas, and sports activities. During the First World War, it was the scene of fierce fighting, the traces of which are still clearly visible.

The Lagazuoi Tunnel is one of the most fascinating historical sites in the Dolomites, located within the Mount Lagazuoi massif. It combines history, adventure, and unique views, and is one of the most evocative routes for understanding the life of soldiers at high altitude during the Great War.
It is a system of tunnels dug into the rock during the First World War by the Italian Alpine troops. They served as connecting routes, shelters, and military outposts to counter the Austro-Hungarian troops occupying the peaks above.

The Valparola Pass is a picturesque Alpine pass in the Dolomites, located at 2,168 meters above sea level, just above the Falzarego Pass, along the SS48 road between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Arabba–Val Badia.
The pass is located in a wide, open landscape, surrounded by imposing mountains such as Sass de Stria, Lagazuoi, and Settsass. It is less crowded than the nearby Falzarego Pass and offers a quieter atmosphere, ideal for those seeking panoramic views and Alpine silence.
